Run No. 80 - November 6, 2024
Venue: On the Thai / Laos border (Train Rumble Prelube to Mekong
Indochina Hash Weekend)
How many of us will live to see run 100? Arrived at a
beautiful resort run site near the confluence of the Mun and Mekong
Rivers, multicolored waters in front of a beautiful venue. After
some coffee and rest time, the hare SLAP and TDH3 Dictator for life
Nibbles called us in for pre run instructions. Took them a long time
to just say go to the road and turn left.
This we finally did with walkers Incomplete Erection and Boob a Lube
leading. That wouldn’t last long. Down the road then into more
pristine areas and a nice path along the river. Checkless had now
surged to the front, the absence of checks had us wondering if he
was involved with setting the trail!
Finally we turned right into a bit of shiggy where Hairy Coconuts
wearing flip flops, dropped back - ooo I left my shoes in my big
suitcase! Budgie Smuggler (spawn of Hairy Coconuts and youngest male
on trail) soon took the lead into the jungle! Diarrhea, Tom Yum
Gung, and Tom Boy joined a wave of front runners soon emerging on a
road then right back into the bush. We did a loop through some
thorn filled paths then across a rocky plane with a stream in the
middle. Follow the trail wet feet, go around no problem!
Flying Scotsman was out there with dry feet and Yo yo was moving up.
We hit another road but very shortly found a run walk split. The 30
of us or so who went long were rewarded with loose rocks, dirt, and
hills. The rest walking not so much but still a nice walk.
Shaggy and Aunties Bitch raced to be the lead walkers! Mad Cow
followed way behind!
Meanwhile the runners struggled on. Vivi and then Occupied passed
Boob a Lube and in the end Boob was the last one back. Pole
Fucker and Little Boy swept up the rear of the walkers so everyone
made it safely back! All in all a nice enjoyable trail on the banks
of the river.
On return we were met with beer and copious snacks provided by Team
TDH3… thank you Nibbles, Normal, Crash Daley, Semiconductor, Sizzler
and others! Thai snacks, chili, beef, fruit and much yet to follow!
Then the circle. Ringmaster Boob a Lube called us to order then
promptly punished Lofty for laying on his arse all morning because
he ate too many Pringles the night before… what a load of bollocks!
Then the TDH3 GM Nibbles was introduced, she thrilled us with her
welcome speech then bored us with border crossing details.
Now it was time to introduce our RAs, Whoremonger and Normal, who
took control of the circle to initiate our TDH3 virgins. On your
knees, shirts off, magic words said, no hands beer drinker then put
your TDH3 shirts on.
We went through a plethora of charges, Hare SLAP and Occupied from
Hawaii leading the charge. Hares were thanked. Couples who met on
the hash drank together, two Thai ladies trying for a guy were
serenaded and on it went. GM Nibbles finally delivered a closing
thank you and we were on to a lunch feast.
Fine dining on the river, beautiful view, plenty of beer. Again much
thanks to SLAP for organizing. At the end, it was back on the buses
on on to Laos and conclusion to a great TDH3 #80 run!!!
