Thinking Drinking H3

It was a grand event in Vientiane. Was my first time in Laos but well worth the trip (always great to hash with friends in Asia). On Thursday night we boarded the hash train at 8 PM for an overnight trip up to the Laos boarder. (It costs US$30 to get in and $10 to get out.) After standing in three lines for (visa, immigration, and entry fee) then we jumped on a tucktuck for the 30 minute ride into the capital city of Vientiane. Some folks had trouble getting through the boarder, so the Thinking Drinking hash was delayed in going (which ended up making us late for the Red Dress hash later that night) but we did the quick change and off we go on the bus.

A wonderful trail through some prime farm country, lots of good shiggy, and a bit hot. Trail was just about an hour long and most of the pack had finished within 90 minutes (one bugger came riding in on a farm tractor at about 150 minutes - should have taken that left turn in Albuquerque). We headed back into town to catch the Red Dress run, but got there just as the pack started to come in and decided to go back and get cleaned up for the big dinner party. There were a good 400 of us at dinner (Baldrick and Candy Floss even rocked up and joined our table, representing the Middle East and Europe), with excellent local food, dancing, thirst quenching, and frivolity.
